Just wanted to show you your excellent workmanship. Your supplier must have used the same mill that my kilt maker used because the colors and patterns of the Maxwell plaid match perfectly. The cover for the bag fits perfectly on my Willie McCallum hybrid. My grandson has the same kilt and pipes. When he gets back in town and sees this he will probably want to order a set. I hope you have access to more material.

Eileen delivers a superior product with wonderful attention to detail in both the creative and customer service departments. My tartan cover fits like a glove, never slips from under my arm, and the tartan fabric has a lovely weight and durable feel about it. I play my pipes proudly, and can continue to do so now that I can display my family tartan with this wonderful cover.

I started to play the GHB aged 11 and was a voluntary band piper during 14 years RAF service, but now aged 76 with a heart problem I no longer have the power to blow 4 reeds, but have resurrected my youth over the past few years playing for my RBL Branch in Gloucestershire at Remembrance, funerals, etc. using electronic Redpipes. (A full set of GHB with an electronic synthesiser built into the bag and fitted with blocked drones and sensored chanter holes, with the bag fitted with a controllable small leak to simulate blowing realism). I used a conventional tartan bottom-zipped bag cover to mask the permanently fitted black cover of the pipes, but had the inconvenience of having to unzip bottom zip and feell blindly around to access the the electronic controls. (Primarily the on/off switch, to save battery power.) For several years I have wanted a custom over-bag made with a hidden zip behind the bass drone to allow a more discrete access to the electronic controls and also one made using the official RAF tartan.
Recently I found Solo Bagpipe Covers on line and contacted Eileen. From day one she has been fantastic. She agreed to make a bag cover and ribbons to my specification and quickly sourced the tartan that I wanted. Throughout the whole process we have been in contact, reviewing minor specification changes and final sizing, and now thanks to Eileen, I am now playing a set of Redpipes using an over-cover with hidden access to the electronic controls exactly as I’ve wanted for several years.
I would wholeheartedly endorse not only Eileen’s work, but also her dedication to complete a job to customer specification. If you need a customised bag cover then look no further.
